I have been a resident of McKinney Texas since June of 2000. I am a native Texan who grew up in Fort Worth. I traveled and worked around the world and settled down here in McKinney.
I graduated from University of North Texas in 1975. I was employed by manufacturing companies in Mineral Wells and one in Dallas. I spent two years working in Africa as a Controller/Administrative Manager. In the mid 1980's, I started my own real estate company and did very well for several years. When the Savings and Loan crisis dried up loans, similar to today, and the interest rate went to 20+% on mortgages, we could not survive. I reverted back to an area I enjoyed...helping people save money on their taxes. I tend to be financially thrifty and want to save more than most. On your tax returns, I work hard to obtain information from you that could lower your taxes. Some preparers will take the information provide and prepare the return. They do not question what was given. The majority of the time I will spend gathering information, probably more so than actually preparing the return. Today's software makes it easier to prepare the return and to print it out. Knowing the tax laws and what deductions are available for your particular tax situation takes experience and training. Our software costs retails over $7,000 a year. Our knowledge has been gain by 20+ years in the profession.
